Today, I am doing another this and that post on the week and the season that we are in. The year is coming to an end. I have to admit it’s my favorite time of the year. Whether the year was a good one or not, there’s hope that always comes with a new year and the opportunity to do things differently.
Enjoy your here and now
For most, this holiday season is also a time to reflect and plan for the year ahead. Yes, planning for the future is very important, but don’t be so obsessed with the future that you forget to pause and enjoy what you already have. This holiday season, remember to rest and prioritize yourself. Enjoy your here and now. There’s a lot to be grateful for today, even when you have goals that you have not completed.

Resist the urge to overspend
Something about the holiday season causes many people to overspend and get into debt, making January one of the longest months of the year. The memes out there on this, whilst hilarious, all point to the importance of planning your expenditure carefully. Having a detailed budget helps. Set aside money for all the necessities, and remember to also set aside an amount to enjoy and have fun with your loved ones. I once had a manager who always reminded us to cut our coats according to the size of our cloth, which was simply encouraging us to live within our means. I have a very detailed budgeting template that I have used over the last decade. I have refined it over the years, and it’s a definite game changer if you don’t have any budgeting tool that you use. You can comment on the budgeting template in the comments, and I will share this with you.

December Reading List
This month, I have two books on my reading list.
- The Art of War For Women by Chin-Ning Chu
- Work Life Well Lived by Kelly Mackin
I might do a review of one of them later in the month.
So, what is on your reading list this month? Hit reply and let me know.
Gratitude. This week, I am grateful for the gift of family. I am surrounded by their love and care, their generosity, and their prayers.
Gratefully
