Rain, Traffic And Power Outages… Not Always A Bad Thing!

Continuous rain comes with its fair share of inconveniences. Children’s school extra mural activities were canceled all week! Kids were stuck indoors, and that’s when the screen time battles began. And please don’t get me started on traffic, because somehow, the moment it rains, as drivers we seem to collectively lose their ability to drive! And of course, with that much rain, the electricity outages follow. Always. Without fail!

But even the rain has its lessons.

A forced and unexpected change to my usual route to work reminded me that sometimes we have to try new things. That the best routes aren’t the ones we already know and when we try something new, we open ourselves to possibilities we never thought possible.

I needed a salary increase. In ignorance, or rather innocently, I took my budget to my line manager and showed him how this was not a frivolous ask but a real need πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ. My manager was gracious enough to explain how things worked. His exact words were..” You have to cut your coat according to your cloth”
