Courage doesn’t come before the leap!
Nurturing Friendships In The Midst of Career And Motherhood Demands
There’s no shortage of people I can sit with and have a genuine laugh with, and just share life with. But when it comes to actually finding a time that works for both of us? That’s where the real struggle begins. Somewhere between work meetings, school pick-ups, extra-curricular activities, and personal development, friendships seem to take a backup seat. Even when we both mean well and want to meet up, it turns into a long back and forth of “what about next month?” or “can we try again after this project ends?” And don't get me started on time zones. Some of my closest friends are spread across different parts of the world now. When I’m finally free for a chat after bedtime routines, they’re fast asleep or knee-deep in their own daily madness. Coordinating a simple phone call feels like planning an international summit sometimes.
Because Sunday Always Comes!
Ever since my father passed, seasons like Easter, Christmas, and even my birthday feel different. Driving home, knowing he will not be there to welcome us, is something I will never get used to. I miss his warm welcome, his stories, and his presence. The ache of missing him comes in quiet waves. But even in that grief, Easter still carries hope.
Entrepreneur vs. Employee
Entrepreneurship is often marketed as the ultimate dream. Social media coaches who are trying to sell you their products will tell you that working a 9-to-5 job means building someone else’s dream, and running your own business is positioned as the key to financial freedom. Corporate life is painted as restrictive, and being accountable to a boss is looked down on. In some instances, there are also stories of toxic workplaces and narcissistic bosses. If you flip the coin, those who are "killing" it in corporate will share only their wins, their latest promotions, all the big and impactful projects they are working on and hashtag their posts with #greatplacetowork. Lately, though, for everyone celebrating their promotion or new role, there is someone who has been laid off and has been looking for a new role for months without success. So which path should you take? Read on to find out!
Avoid These 10 Career Traps
Careers aren’t straight lines, and success isn’t a checklist. You just need to be smart enough to know the traps and be brave enough to step around them.
My Q1 in the rearview mirror
Whilst we can not dictate global events, we can focus on those things that are within our control, such as our mindsets, our choices, and our actions. The end of Q1 is a great opportunity to reflect on what we can influence.
Faith demands action!
This post is a few days late because i was traveling. Now that I am back, the normal posting schedule will continue. 2025 is going by very fast... at least for me, it is. So, let's talk about the goals that you set when you were excited about the new year in January and theContinue reading "Faith demands action!"
The Perfect Moment That Never Comes!
I was looking at my goals earlier this week, and I realized I have put off starting certain things because I keep telling myself the moment isn't quite right. Weeks turn to months, and years go by, and still, the moment is never quite right. When was the last time everything lined up just rightContinue reading "The Perfect Moment That Never Comes!"
The Women Who Shaped Me – A Tribute On International Women’s Day

Trying to bloom “wherever” you are planted?
If a plant isn’t thriving, a good gardener doesn’t yell at it to "be stronger," they do their best to make sure the conditions are ideal for the plant to grow. People are no different.
Rain, Traffic And Power Outages… Not Always A Bad Thing!
Continuous rain comes with its fair share of inconveniences. Children's school extra mural activities were canceled all week! Kids were stuck indoors, and that's when the screen time battles began. And please don't get me started on traffic, because somehow, the moment it rains, as drivers we seem to collectively lose their ability to drive! And of course, with that much rain, the electricity outages follow. Always. Without fail! But even the rain has its lessons.
Traffic Jams And Life Lessons!
A forced and unexpected change to my usual route to work reminded me that sometimes we have to try new things. That the best routes aren’t the ones we already know and when we try something new, we open ourselves to possibilities we never thought possible.
Cut your coat according to your cloth!
I needed a salary increase. In ignorance, or rather innocently, I took my budget to my line manager and showed him how this was not a frivolous ask but a real need 😃😃😃. My manager was gracious enough to explain how things worked. His exact words were.." You have to cut your coat according to your cloth"
Why working women need a tribe (and how to build one)
And just like that, January 2025 has ended! It's as if you blink and the month is over. I am not going to ask if you are still on track with your goals 😃. January was a wild juggling act for me. For the first time in twelve years, we no longer have a live-inContinue reading "Why working women need a tribe (and how to build one)"
Do you really need to study for an MBA in 2025? Weighing the pros and cons
If I had invested the ~$10 000 that I paid in tuition fees for my MBA in Tesla's initial IPO in June 2010, i would have bought approximately 588 shares at $17 per share. Tesla has since undergone 2 stock splits. 5 for 1 in August 2020 and 3 for 1 in August 2022. These splits would have increased my share count to around 8 823. As of today, 25 January 2025, the Tesla share is ~$406 per share. An investment of $10 000 would be valued at $3 582 352,94! Obviously, this is a very simplified calculation that does not include transaction costs, potential dividends, and taxes, but I am sure you get the idea. Don't get me wrong. I don't regret studying for my MBA when I did. As someone who mentors many young professionals, I believe it's important to present both sides of the argument.
